  • What are the ages for child rate?
    For most local Hong Kong tours, children aged 3 – 11 will be charged at child rate for the tours. However, the age range differs for Macau and China tours, as well as for theme park, train and ferry tickets. Please check the relevant section accordingly.

  • Can I book when I get to Hong Kong?
    Yes, you can always book your tour after you arrive. All our tours operate on a first-come-first-served basis, hence, if there is a tour that you really want to go on or you are only staying in Hong Kong for a very short time only, it is best to book early. This is especially the case for Special Interest or Event tours such as ComeHorseracing, High Flyers and Chinese New Year tours.

  • What are the cancellation procedures?
    No refund will be made for all confirmed bookings except in the event of tour cancellation by Splendid Tours & Travel or other operators due to bad weather or any unforeseen circumstances.

  • How can I pay for my reservation?
    All bookings must be confirmed by payment.  We accept Visa and Master.  You can do so online or complete the reservation form with the relevant details and fax it back to us. Alternatively, you may transfer the money to our bank account directly.  Please contact us for our bank account details.

  • How far in advance should I reserve?
    We suggest you reserve your tour when you have confirmed your travel dates. Reservations are on a first-come-first-served basis. For all China tours, a minimum of 2 working days in advance is required for reservation.

  • I prefer to book via telephone or post, how do I go about this?
    Unfortunately, we do not accept reservations over the phone. Please place your reservation by completing our reservation form with your credit card details and fax it back to us at 852-27217014. Alternatively, please book directly online at our website.

  • Do I need a ticket after confirmation? How long does it take for Splendid to respond? How do I receive my tickets?
    Yes, a ticket is required after confirmation and you will need to show the ticket to your tour guide on the day. Once we receive your request, we will send you a written confirmation via email within 2 working days. Please make sure the email address you provide is valid. The tour voucher and receipt will either be posted to you by air mail or delivered to your hotel (urban areas only) in Hong Kong for your collection upon arrival.   If you have a preference for either one, please let us know in your reservation.

  • What if I don’t hear back from Splendid?
    We will always endeavour to get back to you within two working days, our working days being Monday to Friday only. Our reservation centre is closed on Saturday afternoons, Sundays and public holidays. If you placed a reservation during this time, we will respond as soon as we return to work the following week. If you have not heard from us within the specified time frame, please contact us via email or phone. In addition to this, please check your own server/email account to ensure that the confirmation email has not been blocked.

  • What do I do if I want to make an on-day tour reservation and your reservation centre is closed?
    Not to worry, you can join our tour on-day even when our reservation centre is closed. Simply call our Operations Department at 852-2316-2151. We are open between 0800 – 2100 hours daily.


  • Do you operate on public holidays?
    We are open throughout the year and our tours operate on public holidays as well. However, some tours only operate on certain days of the week and require a minimum number of participants for them to operate. Please contact us if there are any concerns.

  • Where does the tour depart? Do I get picked up from my hotel?
    For most tours, we offer pick-ups from major hotels in central Hong Kong Island and Kowloon. If your hotel is not listed as one of the pick-up points, we will advise you to go a pick-up point nearest to your hotel. There are some tours, such as the Harbour Cruises or others which require you to go to a specific location for pick-up. Please check with your reservation agent when you book the tour.

  • Are there different departure times?
    Yes, departure times vary for different tours and for different pick-up points. Please check with your reservation agent when you book the tour.

  • What does the tour include?
    Our tour prices include two way transfers and full English guide services (unless otherwise specified). For China tours, cost of the group visa is also included (if your nationality is applicable for group visas). Some tours also include a meal or other special activity, so please check the relevant details for your specific tour.

  • Do you offer airport pick-ups?
    For some tours, we offer airport pick-ups. This is an ideal choice if you are in Hong Kong for transit only. Please check our Transit Tours section for more details.

  • Can I get dropped off elsewhere after the tour other than my hotel?
    Usually, we will drop you back to your pick up point. However, you may get off at any other places that we will stop by, if it is more suitable for your plans.

  • I’m staying at a friend’s place, do you pick up from places other than hotels?
    Unfortunately, we only offer pick ups from hotels and not from private residences. Please ask your reservation agent for the nearest pick-up point to your friend’s place.

  • Is the tour coach a full size bus or a mini bus?
    Usually a minibus (23 seater) will be used for the tours, with the exception for special interests or events tour. You may also be picked up in a larger bus before changing to a mini bus for your actual tour.

  • How will I recognise my guide?
    This is a popular question! As long as you have a Splendid sticker on you, our tour guide will find you! Just make sure you have your sticker on you in full view and wait at the designated pick-up point. Please do be on time, and ideally a few minutes earlier if possible!

  • Do I need to apply my own China visa when I join one of your China tours?
    We will arrange a group visa to China for all tour participants, the cost of which is included in the tour price. We will request for your full name, gender, nationality, date of birth and passport number when you make a reservation. Please note that there maybe additional requirements for certain nationalities.


  • Can I buy tour product for someone?
    Yes, you may buy a tour product for someone as a gift! Please provide us all the necessary details when you make your reservation.

  • Are there any special discounts for pensioners or other special groups?
    Unfortunately, we do not offer standard discounts for pensioners or other special groups at the moment. Requests are usually judged on a case-by-case basis. If required, please contact us with your details and we will see what can be arranged. However, subsidised rates or discounts are not applicable for some tours.

  • I still haven’t received a reply to my email – what should I do?
    Usually you will receive a reply to your email with 2 working days. Please contact us via email again if you haven’t heard from us. Alternatively, you can call us on (852) 2316 2152 or (852) 2316 2151.

  • I want a private tour, how should I go about planning this?
    We have arranged many private tours for both individuals and corporate/leisure groups. Simply send us the dates, no, of people, your desired tour duration and we can provide a quotation for you. Please also let us know whether this is your first trip to Hong Kong, any special areas of interests you may have and whether you would like a meal included. We can design an itinerary to cater to your interests and needs.

  • What languages are available for the tours?
    All our tours are conducted primarily in English. If you are a Mandarin/Cantonese speaker, our tour guide can supplement where possible during any free time in the tour, but the tour overall will still be in English. For private tours, we can arrange a tour guide specific to the language you requested. Please do let us know in advance as it may take some time for this arrangement.

  • Can you accommodate passengers in wheelchairs?
    Our tour coaches are not equipped with wheelchair ramps, but we will endeavor to accommodate special needs of disabled tour participants upon request. Please do let us know in advance and take note that some attractions may not be accessible.
